Matt Gillin, Co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer
A start-up veteran and prepaid industry expert, Matt was also the founder of C/Base, a consultancy business that specialized in partnership marketing services for Internet-based companies. Over a two year period, C/Base structured more than $1/2 billion in total partnership deals for industry-leading online businesses, such as Amazon, Microsoft, Netscape, Hotmail and others. Prior to starting C/Base and Ecount, Matt served as Director of Card Services at Ocwen Financial Corp., where he established Ocwen as the industry leader in the campus "one card" market. Matt is a 2002 winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was recently named one of the Philadelphia region's most influential executives under the age of 40. A recognized industry expert, Matt has been featured by numerous national news outlets like CNN, CNBC, Fox News, Dow Jones, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. Matt graduated with a B.A. from Denison University.
Paul Raden, Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer
A start-up and financial services veteran, Paul was also the co-founder of C/Base, a partnership marketing consultancy business. Prior to Ecount and C/Base, he served as Director of Marketing for two wholly owned subsidiaries of Ocwen Financial Corporation: Berkeley Federal Bank & Trust and Ocwen Card Solutions. Prior to joining Ocwen, Paul served as a management consultant, with a focus on the financial services industry. Prior to that, Paul worked as Marketing Associate at Drexel Burnham Lambert. He holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated cum laude, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Kevin O'Nell, Chief Operating Officer
A financial services veteran, Kevin was a Senior Product Manager for Capital One, where he managed the company's Young Adult Acquisition strategy. Prior to Capital One, Kevin worked in IT and operations consulting. He also previously worked at Sonoco, where he held numerous positions in sales and operations. Kevin holds an M.B.A. from the College of William and Mary and a B.A. from Davidson College.
Ward Schultz, Chief Financial Officer
A finance veteran, Ward previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Fastnet Corporation, where he was instrumental in developing scalable financial systems and rebuilding the finance team to support the company's roll-up acquisition strategy. Prior to his tenure at Fastnet, he was Co-Founder, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Asia Access Telecom, Inc., an international long distance telecommunications provider with operations in the United States, South Korea and Singapore. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of Silverline Technologies, Inc. and Capsule Communications Inc. He began his career with Deloitte & Touche. Ward is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Drexel University and a Masters in Taxation from Villanova University.
Baruch Katz, Chief Information Officer
A start-up veteran, Baruch was co-founder and CTO of Adapt Media, where he was responsible for developing their innovative wireless media platform. Prior to Adapt Media, he served as a senior technology management executive with major companies such as Intel Corp., Deloitte Touche, and Lehman Brothers with primary responsibilities for system integration, financial back and front office systems, and web applications. Baruch holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Science from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology and an MBA from Stern School of Business at NYU.
Andrew Newcomb, Executive Vice President, Corporate Development
Andy is responsible for managing partnership development efforts and assists in the planning of the company's strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Ecount, he spent over eight years in investment management, most recently as a Portfolio Manager with Chartwell Investment Partners. While at Chartwell, Andy was a Large Cap equity portfolio manager responsible for the co-management of over $2 Billion dollars of institutional funds; a portfolio manager for the Chartwell Dividend & Income Fund; and a portfolio manager for Chartwell's Small Cap Value offering. He is a past member of the Pennsylvania Governor's Labor and Industry Task Force, the Financial Analysts of Philadelphia and the Association of Investment Management and Research. Andy holds a B.A. from Trinity College.
Tim Wall, Senior Vice President, Direct Sales
Tim has overall responsibility for Ecount's direct sales initiatives. Tim has more 16 years of direct sales experience and over 12 years of sales management experience. Prior to joining Ecount, Tim was a Director of Sales for Aspect Communications, a leading provider of CRM software and applications. Prior to Aspect Communications, Tim held several senior sales management positions at Executone Information Systems. Tim holds a B.A. from Denison University.
Kimberly Rhodes, Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Kim handles all of Ecount's legal matters. Prior to joining Ecount, Kim held strategic legal positions within the private and public sector. Her background extends to mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, technology, financial services, intellectual property, litigation management and complex negotiation. Most recently, Kim served as Vice President & General Counsel to the leading project management software company, Primavera Systems, Inc., previously she served as Senior Corporate Counsel to software giant SAP and Corporate Counsel to IBM. Kim also worked in the public sector as a Senior Attorney with Resolution Trust Corporation, the corporation created to replace the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation during the savings and loan crisis in the 1990s (now part of the FDIC). Kim earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and her Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law where she was a member of a National Moot Court Team.
Andrew Kese, Senior Vice President, Product Management
Andrew is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the company's products and innovation. With a focus on meeting client needs, over his six plus years at Ecount, he has been the chief business architect behind Ecount's broad array of business-to-consumer payment solutions. He began his career in engineering gaining significant experience in project management, process improvement, and technical writing. Andrew is a licensed Professional Engineer, graduated with honors from the Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary, and holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Villanova University.
Lisa Gillin, Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Prior to joining Ecount, Lisa worked as a management consultant, advising law firms on strategic planning, organizational dynamics and marketing. She has also worked as a corporate account manager and executive recruiter for an executive placement firm and as a labor and employment counsel to the Office of Compliance, U.S. Congress. Lisa holds a B.A. from Trinity College and a J.D. from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University, where she graduated magna cum laude and was an editor of the Law Review. Prior to completing her law degree, Lisa worked with the law firms of Arnold & Porter and Kirkpatrick & Lockhart and with the Office of the White House Counsel.
Mark Harrington, Senior Vice President, Marketing
Prior to Ecount, Mark co-founded Half.com, the Internet's leading person-to-person, fixed-price marketplace, which was acquired by eBay. While at Half.com, Mark built and directed both Retention and Direct Marketing, was the visionary behind the company's textbook business (which catapulted Half.com to profitability and earned him eBay's Out of this World Award), and was also on the team that renamed Half.com, Oregon, making it the first 'dot com city' in America. Previously, Mark worked at Infonautics, a pioneering online information company. Mark started his career with Addison-Wesley, a leading publishing company. Mark holds a B.S., honors with distinction, in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University.
Jason Tiede, Sr. Director, Partnership Solutions
Jason joined Ecount as a founding member and is one of the preeminent experts in the stored value industry. Leveraging over eight years experience, Jason has focused on developing products and strategic partnerships with Fortune 100 corporations, was actively involved in launching the industry's first-ever virtual debit card, and contributed to the development of Ecount's incentive, compensation, youth and travel products. Jason's areas of expertise include partnership development, strategic planning, product development, marketing and financial analysis. Jason is a graduate of Bucknell University and is a current member of the Young Friends of the Brandywine River Conservancy.
