Ecount President and CEO, Matt Gillin, Named Winner of Top 40 Under 40
Conshohocken, PA, April 28, 2004 - Ecount, a leading provider of innovative electronic payment solutions, announced today that Matthew Gillin, CEO, has been named one of Philadelphia Business Journal's Top 40 under 40.
The 40 Under 40 Award is given to the 40 rising stars of the Philadelphia area, selected for their professional accomplishments and commitment to the community. The Philadelphia Business Journal publishes this list on a yearly basis honoring members of the Philadelphia community who have proven themselves to be the most promising young leaders.
Under Gillin's direction, Ecount has secured an impressive client roster of 500 companies, including 24 of the Fortune 100. At a time when much of the technology sector is struggling, Ecount has seen its profits soar, growing exponentially since inception.
Gillin is a true visionary, a recognized industry expert who often represents Philadelphia's growing technology industry on the national stage. He has been a guest on CNBC, CNN, CNNfn, CNN International, C/NET and other major media outlets. Ecount and its products have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Business Week and USA Today.
At Ecount's corporate headquarters in Conshohocken, Gillin has maintained a customer-centric focus and fostered a culture of innovation and an environment in which each employee feels empowered to make impacting change.
In addition to leading Ecount, Gillin maintains a keen sense of family and community, and dedicates countless hours to social issues. One of nine children (and the father of two), Gillin currently sits on the board of directors for two non-profit corporations: AIDS Alive, a non profit organization dedicated to those infected and affected by AIDS, and Speak Up, an organization that fosters communication among parents, educators and youth. As a board member of these organizations, Gillin provides leadership and strategic direction to help them grow.
"We are proud to have the Philadelphia Business Journal and the 40 under 40 committee recognize both Matt Gillin and Ecount for their innovative nature and tremendous market insight," begins Glenn Rieger, Managing Director at Cross Atlantic Capital Partners and Board Member and venture capital investor for Ecount. "The fact that Matt won this award speaks volumes for Ecount's business model and growth of this company. Matt is a very talented individual and we are lucky to have him at the helm."
